TV flop: Davina’s chatshowDavina McCall’s ill-fated chat show has been named the biggest TV turkey of the year.
The eight-part interview series for BBC1, simply called Davina, flopped with both viewers and critics and the star was ‘out of her depth’ said trade journal Broadcast.
Despite heavy promotion, an average of 2.6million viewers per episode tuned in and big-name guests stayed away.
It topped a list of ‘lows’ for the year, ahead of the disastrous Philip Schofield Saturday night series It’s Now Or Never on ITV1.
The programme, which saw a man serenade his girlfriend before proposing, was pulled after one episode.
Taking third place in the lows of the year was Channel 4’s Goldplated, which starred Ray Winstone’s daughter Jaime.
The drama followed the lives of the rich ‘Cheshire Set’, but attracted fewer than 500,000 viewers by the end of its run.
