It’s that time of year and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Here! kicks off in six days time.
The new series is looking set to be bigger than ever with Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly taking the lead.
This year, 10 famous faces will be taking on the gruesome Bush tucker trials in the hope to be crowned queen or king of the jungle.
Here’s what you need to know about the actor.
Who is Malique Thompson-Dwyer?
Age: 20
Best known for: Malique plays Prince McQueen in Hollyoaks and joined the cast in 2016.
Before he joined the Channel 4 soap, he starred in the BBC series The Dumping Ground and attended Oldham College where he studied acting.
Malique had been rumoured to be entering the infamous jungle for weeks and was seen arriving at Brisbane airport today.
He previously told Metro.co.uk in October that ‘if it DID happen, it would be a good experience and a life changing one as well!’
A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Jungle producers were keen to snap up a young star with a fresh following to tune into the show.
‘Malique is over the moon about the gig and has been hitting up the gym already to make sure his body is as buff as possible by the time he goes to Oz.
‘He knows this is a huge opportunity and wants to make sure it’s as fruitful as possible.’
What does he say? ‘Everything is starting to seem real now and I can’t wait,’ he said.
‘When they asked me if I would like to go on I’m A Celebrity, it did take me by surprise. I am a huge fan of the programme and I didn’t expect at the beginning of this year to be asked! It’s going to be brilliant.’
‘I have been quite full on with filming on Hollyoaks recently so it’s going to be nice to have a little break – but obviously a very different kind of break! I am taking some time out to do this but when I have finished, I will be back. It’s nice to go on I’m A Celebrity as me rather than as my character, Prince.’
And he is also looking for love… ‘I am single and I’m not looking for it (love in the Jungle) but if it happens, it happens.’
Odds of winning: Malique is currently an outsider to win the series with Ladbrokes tipping him at 10/1.
When does I’m A Celebrity 2018 begin?
The series kicks off on ITV on Sunday night at 9pm.
