I’m A Celebrity fans are convinced Holly Willoughby will be making an appearance in next year’s I’m A Celebrity.
The 37-year-old joined Declan Donnelly in the Australian jungle, taking over hosting duties from Ant McPartlin while he worked on his sobriety.
And, after the 43-year-old handed her a personalised jungle t-shirt to congratulate her on a job well done, he also joked it was for ‘next year’ when he would vote for her in the bushtucker trials.
‘The biggest thanks from me goes to you, Holly Willoughby,’ he told her. ‘I’ve got you a little prezzie to say thanks.’
Handing her the t-shirt, he added: ‘There you go, that’s for next year. I know who I’ll be voting for in the trials.’
Fans flocked to Twitter in their droves to discuss how great a campmate the This Morning star would be in the jungle.
And, judging by her reactions to nearly every single task, they’re not wrong.
‘Omg is that a hint that Holly is going to be one of the celebs next year?!?! #ImACeleb,’ one asked.
‘#ImACeleb I’m so ready for Holly to be the next Emily next year (plz make this happen thx),’ another posted.
While many more took it to mean Holly would be filling Ant’s shoes once again.
‘They basically just confirmed Holly will be presenting again next year #ImACeleb,’ a viewer wrote.
While a fourth added: ‘#imaceleb I hope Holly will present the show again next year. I liked those two together. I liked that Dec now always refers to her by her full name – Holly Willoughby.’
The mum-of-three clearly had an incredible time in Australia, and thanked Dec for making it so ‘magical’ for her – apart from the t-shirt, obviously.
But she revealed there was one point she burst into tears while filming a trial, and ran off set.
During a chat with This Morning co-host – and best pal – Phillip Schofield, she confessed: ‘It’s been horrific. There was a bit, where you know the Coliseum and you had Fleur and Sair, and they had the green ants on them?
‘This bit didn’t make it to air, because I actually ran out. I was stood there and one green ant bit me and I burst into tears and I ran out of the Coliseum because I was so embarrassed that I was crying.
‘They were covered [in them] and I had one! I was sort of laughing and sort of crying and there was the red curtains and I opened the curtains and I went “help me”, and then I ran out.’
She admitted the embarrassing moment forced her to pull herself together.
‘I was so embarrassed,’ she added. ‘That moment I was like “right you’ve got to pull yourself together now, because you can’t run from the telly. You’ve got to stay there and see it through to the end”.’
And she did a pretty great job of it, with I’m A Celebrity pulling in record numbers.
So much so that Holls decided to treat herself a little on her return to London – splashing out £19,000 on a suite on her Etihad Airways plane, complete with a butler, private chef and dining room.
Well it beats chomping down on those witchetty grubs, that’s for sure!
