
Around 11,500 text votes for ITV’s Dancing on Ice final last Saturday were not counted, Vodafone admitted on Tuesday.
The texts were not delivered to ITV until Monday morning and customers received a message that their vote was too late, the phone company added.
Vodafone said it would refund the cost of the late votes, which occurred as a result of a ‘technical glitch’.
ITV said the missing texts were less than one per cent of the votes cast and would not have changed the result of the contest, which was won by former England rugby player Kyran Bracken.
A spokesman said: ‘Vodafone have assured us that this was an isolated problem and they will give their customers a full refund.
